A Christian Movie, ‘My Journey’, featuring Hafiz, Oyetoro, also known as Saka, and produced by Mrs Kolawole Oluwafolakemi Princess better known as Mummy G.O. premiered in Lagos on Sunday 10th of October 2021.
According to the producer, the movie, My Journey talks about the journey of all of us on earth. She explained that it was about her journey; what she has gone through, what is actually happening now in society, the struggle between husbands and wives, pressures out there, social media problems, etc.
Mummy G.O, speaking to newsmen at the event, said although she has had series of skits on YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms, that ‘My Journey’ is her first full movie and the reason she decided to launch it.
“The movie has about five different casts with a different storyline, the movie is all about things going on the society.”
Asked why she decided to have the veteran actor Saka in the movie, she said he is her big brother, and that they have done several productions on entertainment. She further explained that she picked him because she needed someone that can understand her vision, adding that he has appeared in some of her skits on YouTube.
“I’m very happy he was one of the casts of the movie,” she said.
During the premiere, a new name was unveiled as the use of Mummy G.O production was replaced with ‘The Advocate Films’. She said the change of name was necessary because Mummy G.O seems personal and talks about her alone.
“So, to carry my crew member along and also to enlarge, we need a name that can go far and shield everybody; that was the reason for the change of name,” she said.
According to her, the movie will be on YouTube by the end of the month.
Saka, shedding more light on what the movie is all about said, “I’m privileged and honoured to be a part of the production, the idea of the movie is to preach the gospel and positive values, physical, spiritual, financial; all the moral values you can think of.
“At this point in Nigeria, movies like this is very needed and important in order to check the positive values, most especially in this period where vices and all sorts of problems are happening. I think, if we really want to go back to our positive ways, we need movies like this.”
