A northern group under the aegis of Arewa Youth for Good Governance and Transparency said the All Progressives Congress and its presidential candidate have lost 12 million votes in the region for settling for a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
In a statement by its leader, Comrade Yunusa Hasheem, the group described the Muslim-Muslim ticket as a threat to Nigeria’s fragile unity, peace, love, religious harmony, and geographic diversity.
Hasheem further said that for Tinubu, a Muslim, to select former Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, a Muslim as well as his running, showed that he lacked “respect for the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria” but “only cares for his own personal interest.”
He advised Tinubu to rethink and change Shettima as his running mate.
