The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu has described his counterpart from the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, as a pathological liar.
Tinubu stated this in response to Atiku’s comment on Muslim-Muslim ticket, during an interview aired by television station on Friday, July 22.
Atiku had during the interview claimed that when he was the presidential candidate of the defunct Action Congress in 2007, that he had a disagreement with Tinubu over Muslim-Muslim ticket.
According to Atiku, the APC presidential candidate, had wanted to be his running mate but he refused to accept that because they are both Muslims.
He said his refusal and going ahead to pick a southern Christian, resulted in a breakdown in his relationship with Tinubu.
Tinubu, who has been facing a backlash for choosing to run on Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 electons, responding, dubbed Atiku a “pathological” liar.
In a statement by his media aide Tunde Rahman, the APC presidential candidate said, “ Atiku may want to be president. However, all he has shown is that he is a pathological liar.
“Let me say openly that Atiku offered me the vice presidential ticket in 2007. Let me also say that my religion has not changed. When he offered the position to me, I was a Muslim and I believe he was aware of my religious faith at the time.
“Atiku’s calculations and deceit had nothing to do with religion or his sensitivity to it. His conduct has everything to do with what we discovered about his paucity of character and love of intrigue.”
