Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P and one-half of the celebrated P-Square duo, has firmly denied accusations from his twin brother and former bandmate, Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, regarding alleged song theft.
Recall that recently, Rudeboy claimed that Mr P, along with their former producer Vampire, had taken a song he wrote and intended to include in his upcoming album.
Rudeboy stated that he had written and sung a track titled ‘Winning,’ which was set for release next year, only to find that Mr P had already launched the same song with the same producer.
In response, Mr P clarified that the song was a joint creation between him and Calypso60, stressing that he could not steal something he co-authored with another artist.
In an Instagram post, Mr P wrote, “Person no dey thief him own Property! It is well! Thank you, @iam_vampire_official, for the clarification.
“For the record, ‘Winning’ was written and composed by @calypso60music and myself. Produced by @iam_vampire_official and co-produced by @goldswarm.
“They all deserve their Credit. And I appreciate them.”
He urged his brother to let him focus on his music without negative distractions. “Just As I said in my open letter three months ago, ‘Allow me to do my music in peace.’”
Mr P closed by encouraging fans to continue streaming his single and enjoy ‘Winning’ without distraction. “Winning is out on all music platforms; continue streaming and don’t get distracted. Love y’all, peace.”
