Mohbad’s father demands DNA test for grandson

Joseph Aloba, father of late rapper, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, aka MohBad, has requested a DNA test be carried out on his grandson to establish his paternity.

In the wake of MohBad’s demise, some Nigerians demanded a DNA test to prove the paternity of the five-month-old son considering the controversies surrounding his death.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, MohBad’s dad was asked to address the massive controversial call for paternity test on his grandson.

He insisted the right thing should be done as the matter was now a global concern.

He said: “This thing has become a majority thing, not only in Nigeria. So they should do the proper thing at the proper time.”

On September 24, a video surfaced online of a businessman, Larry Omodia, urging Mohbad’s wife to conduct a DNA test on her son to confirm his paternity.

He pledged to provide N10 million to support the singer’s widow for an ‘all-expense paid’ DNA test if she agreed.

He expressed the view that a DNA test was necessary considering the numerous controversies surrounding Mohbad’s passing.

He asserted that a leaked conversation between Mohbad and Omowunmi during a heated argument made her a prime suspect.

In the leaked clip, the ‘Peace’ singer levelled serious allegations against his wife, including conspiracy, and swore that she would be held accountable if anything unfortunate were to happen to him.

Omodia said Omowunmi’s acceptance for a paternity test to be done on her son would put paid to every traumatic accusation being levelled against her and most importantly clear her name.

Previously, a social media sensation, VeryDarkBalckMan was issued a stern warning by Mohbad’s sister-in-law after he requested DNA be done for the 27-year-old rapper’s son, Liam.

The Instagram activist was threatened with a N300 million lawsuit for defamation of character if he persisted with his DNA request.
