Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian music star Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has once again stirred public interest after revealing that he personally paid N16 million for a second autopsy on his son’s body — an effort that has so far yielded no conclusive results.
Speaking during a TikTok live session, Aloba stated:
“With all sincerity, I paid the first tranche of N16 million to the pathologist. After that, I spent close to N2 million. So, if the pathologist can come out to deny my claim, then don’t believe me again.”
The revelation comes on the heels of the controversial independent forensic review by renowned pathologist Dr. Uwom Eze, which failed to establish the cause of Mohbad’s sudden death. Many fans and observers had hoped the second autopsy, approved in June 2024 by Magistrate T.A. Shotobi of the Ikorodu Coroner Court, would offer clarity and justice.
Instead, it has only added more layers of confusion and skepticism.

Aloba’s claim contradicts earlier reports that he spent N12 million on the procedure. He maintains the cost was higher, raising fresh concerns over transparency, oversight, and the ultimate outcome of the autopsy.
The public is now left with more questions than answers: Why did a second, expensive autopsy still fail to yield conclusive findings? Who authorized such a high financial commitment? And more importantly — will Mohbad’s family ever get the closure they seek?
As pressure mounts, many are beginning to question whether justice is slipping further out of reach.
What is Joseph Aloba truly fighting for — closure, truth, or something more?
