Popular Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has shed light on his involvement in the ongoing drama between controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, and popular influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
It all began when on Tuesday night, VeryDarkMan dropped a bombshell voice recording, allegedly featuring Bobrisky confessing to bribing officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with a staggering N15 million to dismiss his money laundering charges.
In the recording, Bobrisky also claimed that despite being sentenced to six months in prison, he never spent a day behind bars.
Instead, he allegedly revealed that his godfather had arranged for him to serve his sentence in a private lodge.
However, Bobrisky swiftly denied these allegations on Wednesday morning, labeling the viral audio as fake and asserting that he had indeed served his prison term.
In a surprising twist, Seun Kuti has now come forward, admitting that he played a pivotal role in the situation.
He revealed that he was the one who encouraged VeryDarkMan to release the recording after being tipped off about its existence.
While speaking during an Instagram live session, the singer said, “You people are late to the party, I was the first person VeryDarkMan informed about the story. I gave him the go-ahead to expose Bobrisky.”
The EFCC has called in Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan for questioning regarding a N15 million bribery accusation involving its staff.
Both individuals were asked to appear at the commission’s Lagos office to offer details and support the ongoing investigation.
