Authorities of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Abeokuta, Ogun State, have expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for reinvigorating portable water provision, road construction and provision of 500KVA Transformer to the institution.
This was contained in separate letters by the Governing Council Chairman, Prof Kamaldeen Balogun, stating the profound gratitude of the school to the Governor for his kind gestures on the basic amenities.
Balogun said that with such acts, Abiodun actually deserved a second term in office for graciously providing solutions to the challenges bedeviling the institution, especially in the areas of power, water and electricity supplies.
He noted that these efforts were symbolic to resuscitating positive interest in the polytechnic’s education standards, which would rejuvenate a smooth business ecosystem.
The chairman stated that recently a team of Engineers, on the instructions of Governor Abiodun, visited the polytechnic to ascertain the challenges surrounding the smooth flow of water for immediate rectification.
He also said the institution had taken delivery of a 500KVA Transformer donated by the Governor to alleviate the long-standing issues of inadequate power supply.
Balogun equally commended Governor Abiodun for the rehabilitation of the Oloke-MAPOLY road a few months ago and promised continuous cooperation and unalloyed support to the “Building our Future Together” agenda.
The letter partly reads: “I write on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff and Students of the Polytechnic to sincerely appreciate your Excellency for the rehabilitation of Iyana-Oloke road to the Polytechnic’s gate.
“The rehabilitation of the road is a clear testimony of the Government’s commitment to making life meaningful to the Polytechnic’s public and by extension to the good people of Ogun State.”
The chairman said that the the projects were in fulfilment of promises made and a pure demonstration of this administration’s readiness to continue supporting education in all areas.
He opined that some of the issues presented at the stakeholders’ meeting recently held with the state Governor are being addressed.
Balogun, while appreciating the government on behalf of the Council and Management of the institution, also commended members of staff and students for their resilience, doggedness and hopefulness towards restoring the glorious status of the polytechnic.
