Manchester City have dismissed United’s reported interest in star winger Raheem Sterling this summer.
Reports filtering through in the UK on Monday, June 1, suggested United are tracking Sterling’s future at City.
It is believed City’s recent ban from Champions League by UEFA has seen a number of star players at the club reconsider their future at Etihad.
And with the Red Devils likely to seal a place in the European elite competition, it was reported the Old Trafford chiefs could tempt Sterling to complete a switch the other way.
However, Metro UK reports a source at Man City has told the publication they confident of keeping the England international and have no intention of allowing him to leave.
Sterling’s current deal with the Citizens will run until 2023 but the player’s representative are understood to be locked in talks over a possible extension.
The former Liverpool winger has played an integral part in Pep Guardiola’s side, finding the back of the net 11 times in 24 matches this season.
A boyhood United fan, the 25-year-old has also attracted interest from Real Madrid who are long-term admirers.
Meanwhile, the Old Trafford dwellers remain firmly in the race to sign Dortmund star Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish.
The duo are wanted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is keen to add more depth in his midfield and striking as be looks to challenge for titles.
