The logistics support for Rabiu Kwankwaso’s presidential campaign in Rivers will be taken care of by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
Wike made the pledged to from the New Nigeria Peoples Party candidate at the opening of the Mgbutanwo Internal Roads in the state’s Emohua Local Government Area.
Kwankwaso was invited by the governor of Rivers, who described him as a friend and a man of integrity.
Wike has also last week promised to assist Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, with the logistics of his campaign when Obi launched a project completed by the governor in the state.
The governor also said that Obi was a man with all the qualities needed to lead Nigeria.
Speaking about Kwankwaso on Monday, Wike said he was one of the few individuals who pleaded with Kwankwaso, a former PDP member, to stay in the party because he was aware of his value to the PDP, particularly in Kano State.
He said, “I remember when I went to meet you in your house in Abuja to plead with you not to leave the party (PDP) because I knew you were an asset to the party. Even when they told me to leave you alone, I refused.
“I have known you and I know you are a man of integrity so I want to say that whenever you want to campaign in Rivers State, I will provide you with all your logistics, just let me know when you want to come.”
Wike, speaking further, stated that he would shortly commission more projects in the state, claiming that the road project which began in June 2021, was finished four months ago.
“We just commissioned the ninth flyover last week and we will commission the 10th before the end of the year. We will also commission the 11th and 12th flyover next year.
“I said I will turn turn Emuoha around, have i not done it? I brought the best construction company in Nigeria to construct this road,” he said.
