. Oba-elect commended, advised by other Ijebu Obas
The Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu land, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, has given his Royal Blessings and recognition to the Oba-elect of Odo Jobore, Prince Olufemi Olalekan Sunday Ogunbanjo.
The ceremony, which took place on Thursday at the palace of the Awujale, was witnessed by several eminent personalities who graced the occasion, among whom were all the Obas in Ijebuland.
Speaking on the occasion, the representative of the Awujale, HRH Oba Lawrence Jayeoba Adebajo, who is the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, told the Oba-elect that his accomplishments in the development of Odo Jobore were more than enough to qualify him for the exalted stool and throne.
The Orimolusi, however, further enjoined the Oba-elect to strive to be a good listener to his people and should not be biased in his decisions, because being fair would result in his reign in the town to reach greater heights.
The Ijebu Igbo monarch added that the Ijebu Traditional Council would continue to guide all newly elected and installed Obas and other stakeholders in Ijebuland.
While also congratulating the Odo Jobore Oba-elect, Alaporu of Ilaporu Ijebu, Oba Jimoh Adebamiro Quadri, said whatever challenges that might confront him, he should endeavour to use his good offices to foster unity, economic development and advancement in Odo-Jobore in particular and Ijebuland in general.
As one of the most experienced Obas in the gathering, the Alaporu further advised the Oba-elect to cooperate with all the religious leaders in his town and avoid being partial and biased against the traditionalists.
He advised the Oba-elect to ensure he accords all religious groups in Odo Jobore his full support.
The Moyegeso of Itele , Oba Mufutau Kasali, on his own part, said the Oba-elect should not shy away from seeking advice from the elders in the Traditional Council. He therefore prayed for a successful reign for him.
The Ebumawe of Ago Iwoye, Oba Abdurasaq
Adenugba, in his own comment on the occasion, described the Odo Jobore Oba-elect as a long time friend and a man of who is full of humility and respect for all.
The Ebumawe assured the sons and daughters Odo Jobore to expect tremendous development within a short time of the reign of the Oba-elect as their substantive monarch.
The Limeri of Awa, Oba Abib Awobajo, advised the Oba-elect to put God first in all his endeavours and prayed for his successful reign as the Odo Jobore monarch.
Similarly, Ogirimadagbo of Ilodo, Oba Isiaka Ajede, warmly received the Oba-elect, urging him not to relent in bringing all-round development to Odo Jobore town.
The Olisa of Odo Jobore ,Chief Jimoh Shiitu, who spoke on behalf of the people of the town, assured the Awujale and all the other Obas in Ijebuland that all the indigenes and non- indigenes in the town will give him their full support to the Oba-elect as their substantive monarch.
The Olisa disclosed that the Oba-elect had before now, been giving series of palliatives to the people of the town even before his emergence as the Oba-elect and long before the demise of his predessesor.
He said to mention a few of such palliatives, the Oba-elect has supported the town with Solar lights system and had also been helping his people to seek greener pastures.
The head of the Royal Family, Pa Sikiru Adebola Rashidi commended the Oba-elect and congratulated him, describing him as a son the town is always proud of as he has been consistently contributing his quota to its development even before he emerged as the Oba-elect.
He said this is reason the people of the town have overwhelmingly given him their support to become their new monarch.
The Odo Jobore Community Development Association, Assistant Chairman and PRO, Chief Sola Adekoya assured the people of the town that they would never regret choosing him as their monarch, urging all sons and daughters of Jobore to come back home and join hands with the newly elected mornach to develop the town in order to favourably compete with other towns in the area in terms of development and advancement.
