The kidnapped caretaker committee Chairman of Iganna Local Council Development Area of Oyo State, Comrade Jacob Olayiwola Adeleke, and his driver have been released.
Adeleke and his driver were kidnapped six days ago along Okeho- Ado Awaye road by unknown gunmen.
The council chairman was billed to attend a security meeting scheduled with Governor Seyi Makinde on the killings that trailed ENDSARS protest in Oyo State when the incident happened.
The details of their release were still sketchy as at the time of filing this report, as the abductors had reached out to families of the victims, demanding N200 million ransom.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said, “The chairman has regained his freedom and reunited with his family.”
The abducted council chief, who was billed for a meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde last Monday, was kidnapped, alongside his driver along the Okeho-Ado Awaye Road on Sunday.
