Katsina Police Kill Notorious Bandit Leader Hamisu Mopol

Security forces in Katsina State have successfully killed notorious bandit leader, Hamisu Mopol, following a gunfight near the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) permanent site.

The incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon, was confirmed on Tuesday, May 6, by security analyst Bakatsine on X.

According to the post, officers from the Dutsin-Ma Police Division were conducting a routine patrol when they encountered Mopol’s gang in the outskirts of the town.

Mopol, the son of Hajiya Lamiso, a bewoman frequently accused by locals of sheltering bandit, was killed during the confrontation. Witnesses reported seeing Mopol’s gang members often arriving at her residence on motorbikes.

“Yesterday afternoon, Dutsin-Ma Police clashed with bandits near FUDMA permanent site. Bandits leader Hamisu Mopol was killed. He’s the son of Hajiya Lamiso, often accused of sheltering bandits; witnesses say their bikes were frequently seen at her home,” Bakatsine wrote on X.

At the time of reporting, the Katsina State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
