Kano, Nigeria – Governor Kabiru Abba Yusuf of Kano State has mandated the immediate closure of all bank accounts belonging to the state’s ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
The directive was issued during a critical meeting held at the Government House on Wednesday, involving the Chairman of the Kano State Internal Revenue Service and heads of various MDAs.
Governor Yusuf emphasized that this measure is a key component of a broader strategy aimed at ensuring that all government revenues are accurately accounted for and efficiently utilized for the state’s development.
By centralizing the management of funds, the administration aims to curb financial mismanagement and enhance transparency within government operations.
The move is expected to streamline revenue collection and allocation processes, ultimately contributing to the economic growth and infrastructural development of Kano State.
