The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has initiated the accreditation process for Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, confirmed the commencement of the process in a statement on Sunday, highlighting its importance in preparing for the annual examination.
The statement advised new CBT centres interested in participating in the 2025 UTME to review the requirements available on the JAMB website.
“All new Computer-Based Test centres intending to participate in the 2025 UTME should visit https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Pdfs/CBT_centre_requirements.pdf to familiarize themselves with the requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved CBT centre,” the statement read.
After reviewing the requirements, interested centres should notify JAMB in writing of their intention to participate in the accreditation exercise.
“This notification should be addressed to the Registrar of JAMB through the Zonal Director or State Coordinator in their respective states,” the statement added.
Benjamin further explained that centres successfully accredited for the 2024 UTME should register their interest through the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal.
“The Zonal and State Offices will create accounts for new centres on the CMS Portal to facilitate their registration,” he said.
The statement also noted that all centres must complete an Autobot/Autotest on a date communicated to them before the physical accreditation visit by JAMB’s team.
JAMB emphasised that passing the Autobot/Autotest is mandatory.
“Only centres that successfully complete the test and meet the Board’s criteria will proceed to the next stage of accreditation,” it stated.
Centres that meet the requirements will be approved for inclusion in the 2025 UTME registration and examination.
The physical accreditation exercise is set to begin in December 2024, with only qualifying centres receiving notification of their accreditation dates.
JAMB concluded by warning that centres failing the Autobot/Autotest will not be considered for accreditation.
