The Indigenous People of Biafra sit-at-home order paralysed activities in Anambra, Imo and some other states of the South-East on Monday as banks, schools, markets, motor parks, and fuel stations were shut.
In Anambra, several roads across major cities such as Onitsha, Obosi, Nnewi, Oba, Ekwulobia and some parts of Awka were empty as vehicles deserted the roads.
In Imo it was a similar story as
motorists, markets, business centres, schools, filling stations and banks were grounded in various parts of the state.
Residents of the state stayed indoors while roads, motor parks and relaxation centres were empty.
However, some Okada riders were seen in some areas taking frustrated passengers to their various destinations at exorbitant fares.
There are similar reports from Enugu and other parts of the South-East states.
IPOB has continually claimed it had cancelled its every Monday sit-at-home order in the South-East.
However, this Monday sit-at-home coincided with May 30, which is usually celebrated as “Biafra Day” by the IPOB and its supporters across the globe.
