I Have No Plans to Run Against Tinubu in 2027 —Ganduje Amid Campaign Poster Controversy

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has vehemently denied any intentions to contest against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

This follows the circulation of campaign posters on social media suggesting that Ganduje, with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma as his running mate, plans to run for the presidency.

In a statement released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje described the posters as “fake and malicious,” attributing them to the work of mischief-makers.

He hinted at the possibility of certain elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement being behind the false narrative, aimed at sowing discord between him and President Tinubu.

“This is to inform the general public that the poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is contesting for the presidency in 2027 with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as his running mate, is entirely false and a malicious piece of fake news,” the statement read.

Ganduje reaffirmed his loyalty to President Tinubu, emphasizing his commitment to supporting the President’s vision for the country. He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, stating that the President is on the right path to guide Nigeria towards greater prosperity and unity.

The APC National Chairman urged the public to disregard the misleading information, reiterating that his focus remains on backing President Tinubu’s administration in delivering on its promises to the Nigerian people.
