Heavy security presence at Emir Bayero’s residence despite court order

Despite a court order to evict the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, heavy security has been observed at his residence in Gidan Nassarawa.

The area, where Bayero currently resides, is under strict security surveillance, with personnel from the Police, Army, and DSS stationed there along with their vehicles.

There was restricted movement in and out of the vicinity on Tuesday, with security officers manning roadblocks in the area stating that they were following instructions.

Sources within Gidan Nassarawa confirmed that the deposed Emir was present in the guest house around 3 pm but had retired to an inner room.

Earlier in the day, Bayero reportedly received homage from some of his subjects.

Efforts to reach the Kano State government for comment on the situation and Bayero’s continued stay at Gidan Nassarawa were unsuccessful, as the state’s Commissioner of Information, Halilu Dantiye, did not respond to calls and messages.

Meanwhile, the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, who currently resides in the main palace, is being guarded by citizens who have volunteered to protect him.

However, there is minimal presence of security personnel such as the Police, NSCDC, and DSS at the main palace.
