Unknown gunmen have allegedly written letters to residents of 10 local government areas in Anambra State, warning them of an impending attack on their communities soon.
The gunmen said the residents should prepare to receive them.
The local government areas pencilled down by the gunmen for the attack include Ihiala, Aguata, Nnewi South, Awka North, Awka South, Idemili North, Idemili South, Orumba South, Orumba North and Anambra East.
The hoodlums’ letters added that security operatives in the state should get ready for action.
The message from the gunmen read, “We are warning our dear Professor that it is time for action and not time to speak big grammar and talking.
“All the security men occupying should get ready for action.
“Go and tell the President to release our oga, Onyendu, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or face continuous war.”
Meanwhile, police in Anambra said they have killed some hoodlums enforcing the sit-at-home order in the state.
Police said the suspects were operating around the Ogidi area on the second day of the sit-at-home when they confronted their men.
State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the command and other security agencies had been on patrol to maintain law and order in the state.
The PPRO urged residents to go about their normal businesses without any form of intimidation, harassment or worry.
He assured the people of adequate security.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, residents of the state were forced to remain indoors because of a voice note circulating that anybody found outside from 17th to 20th would be killed.
In the last two days, rampaging gunmen have attacked and killed many people in the state.
Many people have stayed indoors for the fear of being attacked by the unknown gunmen.
Consequently, business activities in Awka, the Anambra State capital, and other parts of the state were paralysed throughout Tuesday.
