Persons suspected to be terrorists, Wednesday, raided Manigi market in Mokwa community of Niger State, North-central, killing 15 traders.
Already, scores of people missing.
The terrorists who invaded the village’s market around 1:am led to the death of 15 traders and missing of many traders.
The locals traditionally, hold night marketing.
Babangida Musa Manigi, a trader and resident of Manigi, who confirmed the attack, said the terrorists came to the market in the night around 1:am.
“They started shooting sporadically and killed those who didn’t scamper for safety.
“We went to the police station and saw seven corpses; later on, eight other corpses were brought in, ” he told FirstNews.
“Terrorists abducted scores of traders during the invasion. In the heat of attack, they killed a driver in his car,” he also disclosed.
Another resident, Yahaya Manigi, confirmed that the bandits invaded Manigi’s market.
He said they invaded the market around 1:am and at about by 5:am.
“They abducted many traders in the market. They killed about eight traders during the raid”, he stressed.
When contacted, Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
