Gunmen on Saturday night stormed the shop belonging to Mrs Ekwele Agube, wife of the justice of the Court of Appeal, Ignatius Agube, kidnapped her and shot her personal assistant, Glory Akpama.
The gunmen, who kidnapped her were said to have gone to her shop located at Ekorinim, Calabar Municipality in an Audi 80 vehicle.
Ekwele’s PA was said to have died of internal bleeding at the Navy Hospital in Calabar.
Akpama, who was an indigene of Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State, was said to have tried to resist the hoodlums during the kidnap of Ekwele last night.
Akpama was pronounced dead in the navy reference hospital, where she was quickly taken to.
It was learnt that the incident happened two days after one Mr Kayode was kidnapped at gunpoint on Lagos Street, Calabar South.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Cross River State, DSP Irene Ugbo, could not be reached for comments as her telephone rang out.
She did not also respond to a text message, which was sent to her concerning the incident.
