Prominent mentorship platform, Nasir Giwa Mentorship (NGM), has promised to reward entrepreneur with grants.
The group stated this while unveiling plans to commemorate its 5th year anniversary.
In a press release signed by its Grand Mentor, Engr Nasir Giwa, the group fixed the official kickoff of the anniversary on Saturday, July 3 and to end on Sunday, August 1, 2021.
According to Engr Giwa, “The anniversary is packed with activities that explain in bits what NGM stands for. Outlined for the anniversary are discourses on ‘How to finance an MBA Degree in a top Business school,’ ‘Networking,’ and essentials of a ‘Good Business Model’, which would all be handled by renowned experts in the various fields.
“Also, a core activity of the anniversary is the Educational Support Programme, an outreach where hundreds of secondary school students in selected schools, will be exposed to the ‘Importance of Academic Excellence’ by some of our members; amongst who are serious-minded students of higher institutions, aspiring entrepreneurs and career people who have excelled in their chosen fields of human endeavour.
Three teams shall visit selected schools in Lagos State; including United High School, Ikorodu; Ansar-ud-Deen Grammar School, Surulere and Government Senior College, Victoria Island.”
He added that the peak of the anniversary is the public seminar set to be held on 1st August, 2021. With the erudite scholar and Islamic Finance expert, Prof. Umar Oseni serving as the Guest Speaker.
“The event seeks to acquaint mentors, mentees and the general public with the knowledge required to set-up an interest-free fund.
“We envisage that this will be the start of a journey that will culminate in the set-up of the NGM Ethical Fund that will avail our members the opportunity to access interest-free facility,” he said.
Equally, the anniversary will also feature the presentation of cheque to the winner of the NGM Entrepreneurship Development Grant (NGMED) competition. The presentation will be done by the Lagos State Honourable Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr Hakeem Fahm.
