The Tinubu Support Group (TSG), on Friday, purchased the N100million presidential nomination form of the All Progressives Congress for the party’s National Leader and presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Recently, the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) announced the fixing of the price of its presidential nomination form at N100 million, a development which drew criticisms from the opposition parties and other Nigerians.
But on Friday in Abuja, the TSG, led by a member of the House of Representatives from Lagos, James Faleke, picked up the form for Tinubu.
The APC presidential aspirant is currently on lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, told newsmen after the group purchased Tinubu’s nomination forms that the APC national leader was not bothered about other presidential aspirants that have indicated interest in contesting for the ticket with him.
TSG Director-General, Aminu Suleiman, had on April 20 announced the group’s intention to purchase the nomination and expression of interest forms for Tinubu.
“I, Hon. Aminu Suleiman (D.G TSO) would like to officially state that I have signed a cheque to the tune of 100 million naira, for the purchase of nomination and expression of interest form for our Leader @officialABAT. God bless,” Suleiman had said.
The APC national leader will be contesting for the ruling party’s presidential ticket with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi; Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, among others.
