Group Alleges Genocide in Bokkos, Slams Gov’t Silence Over 60 Killed

A storm is brewing across Plateau State, and the Movement for the Emancipation of Nigeria, MEN, is no longer keeping calm. Through a scathing statement issued by Solomon Dalung, the group paints a chilling image of life in Bokkos Local Government Area.

Their words speak of mass murder, ethnic cleansing, and what they described as the “targeted annihilation” of innocent citizens.

The most recent carnage, which unfolded between the 2nd of April and 3rd, 2025, claimed over 60 lives. From Mangor Tamiso to Ruwi, no one was spared. Communities were attacked, homes burned, and lands defiled. Women, children, and the elderly fell in what MEN alleges were coordinated strikes by Fulani militias operating with genocidal intent.

The group minced no words: “This is not random, it is systematic, coordinated, and genocidal.”

MEN’s anger was as loud as its disappointment in the state. With “glaring silence and ineffectiveness” from both the government and security agencies, the group questioned: “How many more mass graves must be dug before Nigeria acts?”

According to MEN, the aim isn’t confusion, it’s erasure. A slow, intentional erasure of indigenous Christian communities disguised as clashes over land and cattle.

The group isn’t just raising an alarm. It’s issuing demands:
• Label the Fulani militias as terrorist organizations.
• Launch a special tribunal to probe the killings.
• Station a permanent security task force in Bokkos.
• Expel all foreign mercenaries and land-grabbers.

MEN also directed its voice inward, urging civil society, religious leaders, and youth groups to end their silence. Abandonment, they say, must lead to self-defense.

In the midst of darkness, they saluted the Butura Development Association for standing with Ruwi’s grieving residents. MEN called them a symbol of the “true Plateau spirit” and stressed that this crisis is not just a Plateau problem, it’s Nigeria’s.

And to the world, MEN had this message: “Let the world know: Bokkos shall not bleed in vain.”
