Grammys 2025: Tinubu Celebrates Tems, Hail Others For Winning Big

President Bola Tinubu, has congratulated Nigerian music sensation, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, for winning the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th annual Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The president sent his congratulatory message in a statement accompanied by the singer’s photos on his X.com handle on Monday.

Tinubu, on behalf of the entire nation, commended the singer for her unique artistry, which has brought pride to Nigeria on the global stage for the second time.

The president also congratulated other Nigerian artists nominated for this year’s Grammy Award including Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Lojay, Davido, and Burna Boy.

He thanked these patriots for putting Nigeria on the global map of great achievers in the music industry and for showcasing the country’s creative excellence.

Tinubu’s statement read, Congratulations to #temsbaby on winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, “Love me jeje”. I am proud of her accomplishments and those of Nigerian origin who were nominated for the Grammy awards. Their achievements continue to inspire all Nigerians. Congratulations!”

Openiyi claimed the Best African Music Performance Award at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. She triumphed in a tough competition, overcoming formidable rivals with her hit love song, “Love Me Jeje.”
