Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring that criminals are held accountable during his tenure.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of new appointees at the Government House in Benin City, Governor Okpebholo assured the people of the state that under his leadership, criminals would not be allowed to escape justice or disrupt the state’s relative peace.
The newly appointed officials include Emmanuel Okoebor as Commissioner for Finance, Paddy Iyamu as Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and retired Commissioner of Police, Friday Ibadin, as Coordinator of the Edo Security Network.
Governor Okpebholo emphasized the importance of their roles, urging them to use their positions to contribute positively to the state’s growth and development.
“The security of the people is paramount, and it is essential that we work together to protect the peace that we have worked hard to establish in Edo,” Governor Okpebholo stated.
In his remarks, Okoebor, who spoke on behalf of the new appointees, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state and assured the governor and the people of Edo that they were committed to supporting his five-point development agenda.
Okoebor pledged to collaborate with other stakeholders to strengthen the state’s financial management systems and drive economic growth.
Governor Okpebholo’s administration has placed a strong emphasis on security, infrastructure, education, and economic development, with the newly sworn-in officials tasked with helping to achieve these goals.
