Gov Mbah Approves Landmark Promotion, Conversion for 2,061 Civil Servants

In a bold move reinforcing his commitment to the welfare of civil servants, Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has approved the long-awaited promotion and conversion of 2,061 government workers who participated in the 2024 exercises.

This development has sparked widespread excitement among state employees, who have lauded the administration’s dedication to their well-being evident in timely salary payments, enhanced working conditions, and continuous capacity-building efforts.

Disclosing the news, on the 24th of March, 2025, Chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission (ESCSC), Mr. Robison Odo, confirmed: “The executive governor of the state recently gave his approval for the release of the promotion and conversion exercises of 2,061 officers who successfully partook in the 2024 promotion interviews.”

He further revealed that the promotions spanned across ranks from Grade Level 01 to Grade Level 17, affirming: “On our part, we will waste no time in implementing the governor’s approval.”

Commending Governor Mbah’s unwavering dedication to workers’ welfare, Odo highlighted the administration’s track record of prompt salary, pension, and gratuity payments.

He particularly praised the governor’s bold decision to approve an ₦80,000 minimum wage in 2024 far exceeding the national benchmark despite the numerous developmental projects currently underway.

“We want to appreciate the governor in a special way for all he is doing for workers in the state,” Odo emphasized, adding that civil servants remain committed to supporting the government’s vision for a prosperous Enugu.

He further assured: “On our part, we will continue to instill discipline in the service, with the commitment to foster creativity, innovation, and productivity that would help the success of the government.”

Governor Mbah’s latest move not only uplifts the workforce but also reaffirms his administration’s dedication to a thriving, efficient civil service in Enugu State.
