Nigerian content creator, Gilmore, has offered an insightful comparison between the country’s thriving content creation industry and its music scene, revealing that content creators are far more collaborative and supportive of one another than musicians.
Speaking in an interview with Hip TV, Gilmore credited this camaraderie as a key factor behind the exponential growth of Nigeria’s content creation industry.
“This is 2024; everybody is on their phone. People no longer watch TV. You can make money off social media,” Gilmore remarked, highlighting how platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube have reshaped the way entertainment is consumed.
According to him, the spirit of collaboration among content creators has been crucial in driving their widespread success across digital platforms.
During the interview, Gilmore also shared some personal preferences, expressing his admiration for afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr, whom he described as his ideal woman. He humorously recalled having a childhood crush on another music star, Niniola.
As Nigeria’s entertainment landscape continues to evolve, Gilmore’s reflections underscore the growing influence and unity among content creators, a contrast to the more competitive atmosphere within the music industry.
