The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has cautioned the public to disregard false reports about an ongoing recruitment exercise circulating online.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, the agency clarified that no recruitment is underway and dismissed the claims as baseless.
“The attention of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been drawn to a publication by online platforms misinforming the public about ongoing recruitment of personnel into the services of the Corps,” the statement read.
“This medium is to let the public know that the Corps is not recruiting at the moment, neither is there any ongoing arrangement to that effect.”
FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, reiterated that recruitment processes within the Corps are always transparent and widely publicised through verified channels, including the FRSC website, official social media platforms, and the National Traffic Radio 107.1FM.
Mohammed urged potential applicants and the general public to disregard the misleading publications.
He warned against engaging with individuals or platforms spreading the false claims, stating, “The public is by this publication warned to desist from any form of engagement with the purported scammers and purveyors of the misinformation as the Corps will not be liable should anyone fall victim.”
The Corps further emphasised that its recruitment notifications are always made accessible through official advertorials, ensuring a credible and transparent process.
The FRSC concluded by advising the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to scammers exploiting the situation.
