Some constituents members of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents Abia North, have renewed calls to recall the lawmaker from the Senate “for proposing and promoting” Muslim/Muslim ticket for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Kalu, who is the Senate Chief Whip, is among Nigerians who are not seeing anything wrong with the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the ruling APC.
But some members of his constituents described his action as embarrassing and a betrayal to the people. They, therefore, want him recalled from the Senate.
Recall that last year some members of the constituents had also made a move to recall Kalu from the red chamber, during the period the former Abia State governor spent over 100 days in prison over alleged financial impropriety while he was the governor of the state.
The people of his constituents wondered how Kalu could be supporting a Muslim-Muslim ticket when even a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal, was unequivocal in his condemnation of the decision.
Recall that Lawal, a strong political ally of Tinubu from the North East, described the action of Tinubu as “satanic and a disastrous error”, saying that Christians in the North would revolt against it.
Lawal, chieftain of the APC, said he is against the Muslim/Muslim ticket, saying it is a disrespect for Christians. He regretted that psychopaths around Tinubu were misleading him.
