A leading payments technology company in Nigeria, Flutterwave has announced its partnership with global payment leader PayPal.
With the partnership, PayPal customers all over the world can pay African merchants through Flutterwave’s platform.
In a statement on Tuesday, Flutterwave’s Head, Branding and Storytelling, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, said that the new partnership allows African businesses and people living in the continent to receive payments from Paypal users globally through Flutterwave.
“It is going to change everything. It is going to make African businesses into global businesses,”
The Fintech Company is founded by a Nigerian-born Silicon Valley enthusiast, Olugbenga Agboola, whose net worth is about $1 billion.
Agboola tweeted. “We need to connect Africa to the world when it comes to payments and we took a closer step to that today.
“We are announcing an important step towards achieving our mission and goals. We Flutterwave have collaborated with PayPal to allow businesses in Africa receive payments from over 377 million PayPal users all over the world.”
