The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, who passed away on November 5, 2024.
Senator Tinubu was accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, and the wife of the National Security Adviser, Hajia Ribadu. Together, they were warmly received by Mrs. Oghogho Musa, wife of the Chief of Defence Staff, at the family residence.
During the visit, the First Lady offered her condolences to the bereaved family and shared words of comfort with Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, the late COAS’s widow, and their children.
Senator Tinubu expressed her deep sorrow over the loss, acknowledging that “the Lord only can determine when a man dies,” and prayed for strength for the grieving family.
A statement from Busola Kukoyi, SSA Media to the First Lady, quoted Senator Tinubu as urging the Lagbaja family to take solace in the “good life and legacies” left behind by the late General.
She encouraged the children to remain steadfast and uphold the values their father stood for, emphasizing that his legacy of service and dedication to the nation would continue to inspire them.
