The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has successfully extinguished a fire at the Radio Nigeria building located at Plot No. 35, Ikoyi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The agency confirmed the incident in a statement released on Wednesday night, signed by Director Margaret Adeseye.
The fire was reported at approximately 17:30 hours, prompting immediate action from fire stations in Dolphin and Ebute Elefun.
Upon arrival, first responders found the blaze well-alight due to the materials in the studio section.
Adeseye assured that the situation is now under control, with the fire confined to the studio section of the U-shaped, one-storey building.
The fire has since been fully put out, thanks to the joint efforts of the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, the Federal Fire Service, the Nigerian Police, and other emergency responders.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, Adeseye confirmed no casualties have been reported. Firefighters have concluded their operations, ensuring the area is safe. The public will receive updates as necessary.
