The 2023 FIBA World Cup qualification chances have continued to dim for Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers as they lost to arch rivals Angola 67-70 on Sunday.
D’Tigers lost the first quarter 16-18 before fighting back to pick the second at 13-9. They again lost the third quarter 16-23 but came back to win the fourth quarter 22-20.
They had earlier lost their first game to host Cote d’Ivoire 66-78 on Friday but returned to win the second game on Saturday against Guinea 89-70.
Now fourth in Group E behind Cote d’Ivoire, Angola and Cape Verde but ahead of Uganda and Guinea, D’Tigers will be hoping to make a better outing during the final qualification window which will be held from February 24, 2023.
