As part of its efforts to break the rank of the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Federal Government, on Tuesday, registered two unions in the university system.
The newly registered unions are the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics and the Congress of Nigerian University Academics.
Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, who presented the certificates of registration to the two unions, said that the two new unions will co-exist ASUU.
ASUU embarked on strike since February 14, 2022, and lecturers of public universities have since been protesting unpaid allowances.
They have also been demanding better welfare package from the Federal Government.
