Nigeria’s Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has been inaugurated formerly as the Chancellor of Cavendish University, Uganda.
This was revealed by the former president on Thursday as he displayed his inauguration pictures.
He would be serving as the third chancellor of the university since it was established.
While former president of the Republic of Zambia, the late Kenneth Kaunda, was the pioneer chancellor, and the late president of the United Republic of Tanzania, Benjamin Mkapa, was the second.
According to a post by Jonathan on the development, he said “I am pleased to have been formally inaugurated as the Chancellor of Cavendish University Uganda and to have performed my first official function in that capacity at the 10th Graduation Ceremony of the University today in Kampala, Uganda.
“I congratulate the new graduands and urge them to deploy their knowledge towards positively impacting people, building a community of reformers, and improving the society.”
The institution had sometime in June this year, in a tweet on its Twitter handle, announced Jonathan as its new chancellor.
The tweet read, “Welcome aboard @GEJonathan as you take over as the Chancellor of CUU. We look forward to this new era and achieving great things under your leadership. Success begins at Cavendish!”
