English Premier League club, Everton is set to hire Rafael Benitez to fill the vacant managerial role after Carlo Ancelotti left the club for Madrid earlier this month.
Ancelotti left after 18 months at Goodison Park.
Benitez left his Chinese club, Dalian Yifang, earlier this year and appears set to be returning to the Premier League two years after departing Newcastle United.
The Spaniard had also managed Everton’s rivals, Liverpool, from 2004 to 2010 and lifted the Champions League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup during his time at Anfield.
He was also appointed as Chelsea’s manager on an interim basis in 2012 and went on to win the Europa League and guide the Blues to a third-place finish in the Premier League that season.
The former Liverpool Manager is close to taking over the Everton managerial position, following positive talks with the club’s board.
