The Enugu State House of Assembly on Thursday passed anti-open grazing bill into law.
This is coming after the bill scaled through a clause-by-clause consideration during its third reading.
The bill is believed to be in line with the September 1 deadline issued by the Southern Governors Forum to put end to open grazing in the region.
The state assembly had an open hearing on the bill, during which the umbrella body of Fulani herdsmen, the Miyetti Allah asked for one month extension to enable them make input on the bill.
The bill is expected to be sent to the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his assent.
