EndBadGovernance: Court Incident Scripted, We Followed Rule of Law – Police

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has defended the recent arraignment of 76 individuals in connection with charges of terrorism, arson, and treasonable felony, asserting that the process adhered to due legal procedures, the rule of law, and compassion.

In a statement issued by Force Public Relations, FPRO, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the NPF clarified that an incident in court last Friday, during which six suspects reportedly fainted, was “a deliberate and scripted manner to draw negative attention.”

“The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has recently arraigned 76 individuals in court on charges including terrorism, arson, and treasonable felony,” the statement read.

“These serious allegations encompass offences such as the destruction of public property and threats to national security.”

The NPF emphasised that it followed legal provisions and rule of law, “In managing the detention and arraignment of these suspects, the NPF has rigorously adhered to legal provisions to ensure fairness and accountability under the rule of law.
