Nigeria has lost a valiant warrior in the fight against terrorism. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dauda Buba Fika, a fearless and highly respected officer, has passed away.
He breathed his last at the National Hospital, Abuja, at approximately 3:30 PM on the 4th of February, 2025, marking the end of a life dedicated to securing Nigeria from the grip of insurgency.
Renowned for his relentless efforts in reclaiming Yobe and Borno states from Boko Haram militants, ACP Fika played a pivotal role in dismantling terrorist strongholds. As the Commander of Mopol 41, he spearheaded joint security operations that not only liberated critical territories but also freed his own hometown, Fika, from insurgent control.
His bravery came at a heavy price.

In 2017, during a daring operation in Yobe State, he sustained gunshot wounds that led to prolonged medical treatment injuries that, ultimately, he never fully recovered from.
His passing was announced by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his X handle on the 5th of February , sparking an outpouring of tributes for a hero who gave his all in defense of his nation.
