The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will no longer keep sensitive electoral materials with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The Chairman of the Commission, Mahmood Yakubu stated this in Abuja on Saturday while responding to questions in an ongoing dialogue in Abuja.
According to him, from the Ekiti State governorship election, INEC will not keep its sensitive materials with the CBN.
He said the decision was to guarantee that electoral materials for the lined up elections are not compromised.
Recall that INEC decision to stop keeping sensitive electoral materials with the CBN followed concerns by Nigerians after the CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele declared interest for the ruling All Progressives Congress presidential ticket, to run for the 2023 general elections.
