The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has disclosed information about the location of the security measures in the new naira notes in an effort to prevent Nigerians from becoming victims of counterfeiters.
The documents below, which the CBN has made public, highlight the specifics and placement of the security elements.
The CBN recently unveiled resigned notes of N1000, N500 and N200. However, weeks after the unveiling, there have been reports of counterfeits of the currencies circulating in the country.
Apparently embarrassed by the development, CBN is believed to have come up with the idea to make the security feature of the new notes public.
