Veteran British musician Sir Elton John has candidly shared his experience battling a severe eye infection.
The 77-year-old artist, in a heartfelt statement, revealed that the condition has resulted in “limited vision” in one of his eyes.
John explained that his recovery has been progressing slowly.
“I’ve been dealing with a serious eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only partial vision in one eye. Although I am healing, the process is slow, and it will take some time before my full sight returns,” the statement partly read.
Despite the challenges, Sir Elton expressed optimism about his progress.
“I’m feeling positive about the strides I’ve made in my healing and recovery so far,” he added.
Earlier this year, the iconic performer announced his retirement from touring.
His farewell tour, which concluded early last year and grossed $939 million (£749 million) across 328 shows, was the highest-grossing music tour in history until Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour surpassed it, earning $1 billion.
