Former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, Questioned by EFCC Over Alleged Misappropriation of N4bn
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly interrogated Kayode Fayemi, the immediate past governor of Ekiti State.
Fayemi was said to have arrived at the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Commission on Thursday morning. He was questioned by a team of investigators regarding allegations of misappropriation of funds amounting to approximately N4 billion during his tenure as governor.
In addition to Fayemi, the EFCC has disclosed that it is investigating former Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, over corruption allegations, including the award of fictitious contracts and diversion of over N70 billion.
The EFCC’s investigations have revealed multiple companies receiving payments without evidence of providing any services to the state.
