Edo Decides: APC’s Okpebholo leads, 16 LGAs Results Announced, Two Remaining

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, is currently leading in the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday, according to the latest results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

As of Sunday, Okpebholo has secured 244,549 votes from 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs), while his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 195,954 votes. Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, trails behind with a total of 13,348 votes.

INEC has declared a 3-hour recess to await the final results from the remaining two LGAs. So far, 16 out of the 18 LGA results have been presented at INEC’s headquarters in Benin City, with collation set to resume at 5 p.m.
