In a recent twist to the political landscape of Edo State, Chief Dan Osi Orbih, the South-South PDP National Chairman, has refuted claims of his acceptance to join Asue Ighodalo’s campaign council.
The announcement, purportedly made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, has sparked controversy and raised questions about party unity and transparency.
Speaking exclusively to our reporter, Chief Orbih clarified that he neither accepted nor was consulted prior to his name being included in the campaign council list. He emphasized that during the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting, no such decision was made or communicated to him.
The PDP official Twitter page in a message posted by Ologunagba said the National Vice Chairman South South, Orbih has accepted to be part of the campaign team.
The Legacy PDP had earlier in their various meetings across the three senatorial districts of the state vowed not to stand for any more deceit and manipulation.
According to the party legacy group, “Chief Orbih is a man of integrity and principle, and he will not be swayed by Obaseki’s propaganda machine. The legacy is still very much standing with Chief Orbih and vehemently rejects the fake news in its entirety.
“The group is still very focused on the real issues facing Edo State and not to be distracted by Obaseki’s desperate attempts to continue with impunity.”
