Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Council for the Edo State Governorship Election, Nyesom Wike, has raised the alarm that the ruling All Progressives Congress plans to use security agents to carry out its threat to “isolate” him during the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.
Wike, who is also the governor of Rivers State, said recent threats by his Kano State counterpart, Abdullahi Ganduje, to “isolate” him until the Edo elections were over, had exposed the plot by the ruling APC to use the security agents for wrong purpose.
The Rivers governor made this allegation at an ongoing inauguration of the PDP campaign council, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
Wike said he was not in the same class with Ganduje, asking, “Between me and a man who has been caught pocketing dollars, who deserves to be isolated?”
Ganduje had during a press conference on Monday in Abuja said the APC would isolate Wike until the September 19 Edo State governorship election were over.
The Kano governor had boasted that the APC campaign council had everything needed to ensure the party’s victory at the polls in Edo.
