Nigerian singer Portable has called on embattled crossdresser Bobrisky to seek forgiveness and reconsider his lifestyle choices.
This statement came after Bobrisky revealed that he was struggling with suicidal thoughts following allegations that he offered a N15 million bribe to Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials.
The allegations surfaced after social media critic, VeryDarkMan, posted a leaked audio recording on Instagram on the 17th of September, 2024.
In the audio, Bobrisky recounted his experience during a four-month jail term, claiming that popular artist Falz had reached out to him, proposing a presidential pardon through his father, renowned lawyer Femi Falana.
The leaked audio sparked public outrage, prompting demands for an inquiry into alleged corruption within the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
Amidst the backlash, Bobrisky took to social media on the 26th of September, 2024, to express his struggle with suicidal thoughts.
In response, Portable shared a video on Instagram, urging Bobrisky to abandon thoughts of suicide and instead seek divine forgiveness.
“Bobrisky, life is risky. God doesn’t want sinners to die. Tell him to repent. If you die as a sinner, you’re going to hell. Beg God to forgive you,” Portable stated in the video.
“Help me tell Bobrisky to ask God for forgiveness. All he needs is to ask God for forgiveness of sin. What Bobrisky is facing now, if he repents, he will enjoy the world.”
Recall that On the 12th of April, 2024, Bobrisky received a four-month prison sentence due to his participation in the misuse of the Nigerian currency, the naira.
