Members of De-Norsemen Kclub International, Aniocha South Chapter, have presented cash gift worth thousands of naira to patients at General Hospital, Ogwashi-Uku, Government Hospital, Ubulu-Uku and Government Hospital, Isheagu.
Presenting the cash to the patients, the Chairman of De-Norsemen Kclub, Aniocha South Chapter, Mr Joseph Ohai, said that the moto of the body was service to humanity.
He said that presentation of cash and other gift items was done every year by the Kclub to support the less-privileged and equally give them sense of belonging, especially during the period of Yuletide.
Mr Ohai said that the reason for presenting cash gift to the patients was to enable them offset some of their hospital expenses.
While saying that the members of the Kclub derived joy when the less privileged were happy, he added that the essence of the gesture was to give back to the society, especially the less privileged.
He called on governments at all levels to look out for the needy, saying that they should create channels that would directly get to the less privileged.
Ohai equally appealed to the philanthropists and well-to-do individuals in the society to always remember the poor people in their budgets to enable them have food on their table.
The club, according to him, was an international organisation that had branches globally.
Some of the patients, who spoke to newsmen shortly after receiving the cash, described members of the group as great people that had the interest of the poor at heart, praying God to continue to bless and protect them and their entire families.
