The North West Youth Network has hailed the appointment of Yazeed Shehu Danfulani as Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) as a “long-overdue lifeline for young farmers,” stressing that these farmers have faced years of exclusion from national agricultural programmes.
The group praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it called a decisive move to empower overlooked rural youth and revive farming communities across the region.
Danfulani, a seasoned agribusiness strategist and public finance expert, has officially taken over leadership at NAIC the federal agency responsible for agricultural insurance and risk management for farmers nationwide.
In a statement released on the 9th of June, 2025, the Network said Danfulani’s appointment has reignited belief among young professionals in the North West that President Tinubu values competence over political loyalty or age.
“We commend President Tinubu for this strategic and thoughtful appointment. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani is a proven leader, reliable, result-oriented, and reform-minded.
His emergence sends a strong message that this administration is committed to driving economic growth through capable leadership,” said Bashir Kawu, Coordinator of the North West Youth Network.

Kawu said he is confident Danfulani will bring a fresh focus to NAIC and ensure it delivers real benefits to farmers in neglected rural areas.
He called the president’s decision “a masterstroke,” pointing out that it comes at a time when food security and economic recovery are national priorities.
“For years, young farmers in the North West have been excluded from key agricultural initiatives. With Danfulani at the helm, we expect a meaningful shift, one that brings real protection and growth opportunities to rural farmers,” he added.
The group also pledged a “vote of confidence” in Tinubu’s leadership and unveiled an ambitious grassroots mobilisation effort to deliver 20 million votes for him in the 2027 general elections.
“This is beyond appreciation, it’s a call to action. Mobilisation has already commenced across the seven states of the North West. Our target is ambitious but achievable: to deliver 20 million votes for President Tinubu in 2027,” Kawu declared.
